The large shrine gate that is famous in Miyajima for sightseeing stands in water and is exposed at high tide.

A view from the summit looking back towards Hiroshima city.
Around the main shrine on Miyajima.

Inside the main shrine just before dusk.
One of the many lanterns inside the shrine.

One of the many lanterns lining the water facing the large gate.

Deer on Miyajima Island

There are many Deer on Miyagima Island near Hiroshima. They are tame and quite friendly but keep your valuables safe as the deer like to eat anything they can take from you. You may notice above the little deer eating a ticket.

The following photos were taken in Miyagi prefecture west of Sendai city near Jyougi shrine. A car is required to get there as it is in the mountains near Akiu falls but still a drive away from there.

Akiu hotspring area - Miyagi Japan

The Akiu hotspring and falls area of Miyagi japan is a beautiful place to visit.
The two photos below are of Rai-Rai canyon in the central Akiu hotspring area. It is an easy walk but very nice.

The photos below are of Akiu falls and a shrine which is just near the falls. It takes about 45 mins to get there by car from Sendai city. By bus it would take longer.
